Permanent Site Manager β Civils & Building

We are currently working in partnership with a well-established and highly reputable civils and building contractor based in the West Midlands, who are looking to appoint a permanent Site Manager to deliver a key project in Coventry.
The successful candidate will take full site responsibility for a mixed groundworks and building scheme, comprising:
- Three commercial, brick-built buildings
- Car park construction
- All associated external works and infrastructure
This is an excellent opportunity to join a contractor with a strong regional presence and a consistent pipeline of work.
Role & Responsibilities
As Site Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the site, including but not limited to:
- Reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications
- Managing and coordinating subcontractors and direct labour
- Client liaison and representing the business on site
- Ensuring health & safety compliance at all times
- Managing programme, quality, and site logistics
- Reporting progress, issues, and milestones to a visiting Construction Manager
- Managing site staff, including a Foreman
- General site management duties expected of a Site Manager
Candidate Requirements
Our client is seeking an experienced Site Manager who:
- Has proven experience across both groundworks/civils and building projects
- Is comfortable managing mixed-discipline schemes from start to finish
- Holds the relevant industry qualifications and certifications (e.g. SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid)
- Is organised, proactive, and confident leading site teams
- Has strong communication skills and experience dealing with clients and stakeholders
