Currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join a leading Mechanical & Electrical Contractor delivering high-profile new build projects across a range of sectors, including Education, Healthcare and MOD. This is a key role within the project delivery team, offering significant responsibility and involvement from pre-construction through to final handover. You will work closely with the Main Contractor, playing a vital part in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of mechanical packages on new build projects from design development through to completion
- Work collaboratively with the Main Contractor, consultants and supply chain to ensure smooth project delivery
- Oversee and support site based teams, ensuring high standards of workmanship and compliance
- Monitor programme milestones, budgets and resources to ensure targets are met
- Coordinate procurement of plant, materials and subcontract packages
- Manage technical queries, commissioning activities and handover documentation
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality and company procedures at all times
The preferred profile
- Proven experience in a Mechanical Project Engineer or similar role within an M&E contracting environment
- Strong background delivering mechanical services on new build projects
- Experience working closely with Main Contractors and managing site teams
- Commercially aware with the ability to manage costs and programme effectively
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Relevant mechanical or building services qualification preferred
