Overview

We're working with a successful, well-established business that has a strong order book and a growing workforce across both office and site-based teams. As the company continues to expand, they're looking to appoint an experienced HR professional to take ownership of all people-related matters, reporting directly to the Finance Director. This is a great opportunity for an HR Advisor, Officer or Generalist who is ready to take on a broader, more hands-on role and make a real impact on a growing business.

The Opportunity

You'll be the first point of contact for HR related queries across the company, working closely with the Finance Director, the Board, managers and employees at every level to make sure the business is well supported, compliant and a great place to work.

  • Preparing and administering HR documentation, including contracts of employment.
  • Managing recruitment and liaising with recruitment agencies.
  • Delivering inductions for new starters and carrying out exit interviews.
  • Supporting the company's appraisal process.
  • Assisting with the Apprenticeship Programme and liaising with training providers.
  • Administering grievance and disciplinary processes.
  • Providing the Board of Directors with regular HR and legislative updates.
  • Building management capability by identifying training needs, mentoring and coaching.
  • Driving employee engagement, communication and wellbeing initiatives across the business.
  • Reviewing and renewing HR policies annually.

The role is full-time and based at the Cardiff office, with occasional travel to regional offices and sites as required.

About You:

We're looking for a proactive, well-organised HR professional with a strong grasp of employment law and the confidence to advise and support colleagues at all levels.

  • 3-5 years' experience in HR
  • Up-to-date knowledge of employment law and how to apply it in practice
  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to plan workloads and meet deadlines
  • Computer literate (Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word)
  • Accuracy and strong attention to detail
  • Able to use your own initiative within the parameters of the role

If you're an experienced HR professional looking for the opportunity to take real ownership of a function and grow with a thriving business, this could be the next move for you
