Overview of the Role
We are seeking a Consulting Manager with 4–5 years of consulting experience, including demonstrated experience managing teams and leading complex SaaS or technology engagements. You will manage a team of Solutions Consultants, oversee end-to-end client delivery, and act as a mentor, coach, and escalation point for consultants across the business. The Consulting Manager will act as a key conduit between the Consulting team and other parts of the organisation (Sales, Customer Success, Operations). This is a highly collaborative role that sits at the intersection of delivery, pre‑sales, people leadership, and practice development.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Sales to support pre‑sales opportunity development.
- Lead discovery sessions to gather technical objectives, business requirements, and customer success criteria.
- Create and deliver tailored demonstrations, workshops, and Proof of Concepts.
- Provide advisory on preliminary solution architecture and feasibility.
- Develop and validate the Scope of Work for proposed solutions, ensuring alignment with delivery capabilities and timelines.
- Participate in RFP/RFI responses when required.
- Provide delivery oversight and light Project Management for key customer engagements from initiation through go‑live.
- Lead cross‑functional project teams to design, build, and deploy high‑quality SaaS solutions that meet customer needs.
- Act as an escalation point for complex delivery issues, risk mitigation, and client relationship challenges.
- Ensure project governance, documentation standards, and delivery methodologies are followed.
- Monitor project health, KPIs, timelines, and resourcing needs.
Leadership & People Management
- Manage, mentor, and support a cohort of Consultants and Associates in their day‑to‑day work.
- Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and personalised development plans.
- Track and optimise Consulting team utilisation; collaborate with the Technical Director on forecasting and workload balancing.
- Lead onboarding and training for new consultants, ensuring successful integration into the team.
- Conduct project audits for major engagements and train the team on delivery best practices.
- Collaborate with existing Consulting management to drive continuous improvement across our Consulting teams.
- Help shape and reinforce Invoka’s culture in collaboration with the senior leadership team.
Internal & Business Development Activities
- Lead internal training initiatives on complex solution design, delivery excellence, and best‑practice methodologies.
- Advise Consultants on complex implementations, architectural challenges, and customer management.
- Identify and recommend relevant professional development and technical training for the Consulting team.
- Support Directors with the growth and scaling of the Consulting practice.
- Participate in recruitment activities, including evaluating candidates, conducting interviews, and supporting hiring decisions.
- Maintain ongoing client relationships, including post‑go‑live customer check‑ins and enhancement advisory services.
Required Skills & Experience
- 4–5 years of experience in consulting or technology delivery roles.
- Experience managing and developing Consultants and Analysts at all levels of experience.
- Strong understanding of SaaS platforms, implementation processes, and solution design.
- An appetite for technology in general, and for uncovering new tools that can improve processes.
- Excellent communication skills: able to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Strong client relationship management skills with experience handling senior stakeholders.
- Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage multiple engagements simultaneously.
- Experience with pre‑sales activities, including scoping & requirements gathering, and creating Statements of Work.
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast‑growing, entrepreneurial environment.
