We're looking for someone who's at home with numbers, trained in working with data and quick to make AI and other tools work for them. You'll run the steady cycle of client data coming in and reports going out, and take pride in getting the numbers right, on time, every time.
About Finfo
We build Finfo 360, a reporting and analytics platform. It pulls finance, operations, ESG and service data from different sources and turns it into reports, dashboards and summaries people can act on.
We're a small, friendly, fully remote team with bases in Berlin and Huddersfield. Our customers include the Ministry of Justice, Rugby Football Union, Merlin Entertainments and McCarthy Stone, who named us Supplier of the Year.
The Role
Every client we work with depends on their data arriving, being checked and turning into reports they trust. You'll own that cycle day to day. You'll know which client and supplier sends what and when, which reports are due, and where each one stands.
You'll work from clear, documented processes written by our Senior Data Analyst, and you'll be the familiar contact for clients on data delivery and routine questions. When something doesn't fit the process, you'll flag it with the right context rather than guess. And because you'll run these processes every week, you'll be the first to spot where they could be better.
Not everything is data work. You'll also take on operational tasks such as budget packs, client portal uploads, surveys and contact lists.
This is a junior role. We don't expect you to know our platform or our clients yet. We'll train you.
What You'll Be Doing
Client Data Intake: Receiving monthly and periodic files from clients and suppliers, checking they're complete and correct, chasing anything missing or late, and keeping a tracker of what's arrived and what's outstanding.
Preparing & Loading Data: Preparing estimates where actual data isn't in yet, importing data into Finfo 360, and replacing estimates with actuals once they arrive. You'll use scripts to prepare import files and to collate data for estimates and reporting (we'll train you). Much of this happens in Excel.
Producing & Delivering Reports: Running recurring reports and returns, including public-sector returns, dashboards and PDF reports. You'll run validation checks, review the output carefully and send it on schedule.
Budget Cycles: Supporting several annual budget cycles: exporting and reviewing PDF versions, tracking drafts, finals and amendments, and setting up new sites.
Client Support: Being the first point of contact for routine data questions, most often about our legacy reports. Our Senior Data Analyst will walk you through the common ones first. You'll resolve what our processes cover and pass on what needs deeper analysis.
Keeping Things Running: Maintaining client settings, users and sites in our admin area, updating client portals, contact and distribution lists, and running client surveys.
Improving the Process: Flagging repetitive manual work, suggesting improvements to our processes and keeping documentation up to date.
Who You Are
Great with Numbers: You're comfortable with figures, think in totals, trends and variances, and can tell quickly when a number doesn't look right.
Smart with Tools: You get the most out of AI tools such as Claude or ChatGPT and other software, using them to check, summarise and speed up your work, while always verifying what they give you.
Detail-Minded: You notice when a total doesn't add up, a file is missing a column or a PDF has a formatting slip, and you fix it before anyone else sees it.
Organised & Reliable: You can juggle recurring deadlines across several clients without dropping anything, and you like having a clear view of what's due and when.
Process-Friendly: You're happy following a well-documented process precisely, and you're just as happy suggesting how to make it better.
Good Judgement: You know when to resolve something yourself and when to raise it, and you explain the issue clearly when you do.
Calm Communicator: You write clear, friendly emails and status updates, and you're comfortable chasing people for what you need.
What You Need to Have
Data Training: A qualification or training in working with data, such as a degree in a numerate subject (maths, statistics, economics, finance, data science or similar), or a data analysis course or certification.
Strong Excel: Confident working with multi-tab workbooks, formulas, lookup tables and pivot tables, and checking data against source files.
Attention to Detail: Evidence of work where accuracy mattered, whether in a job, a placement or your studies.
Confident with AI & Digital Tools: You already use AI tools in your work or studies and know how to prompt them well and check their output. You pick up new web platforms and admin interfaces quickly.
Nice to Have
Some scripting experience, and some SQL knowledge as background for understanding how data is structured.
Experience with public-sector reporting cycles and deadlines.
Experience with data analysis and visualisation tools, such as Power BI and Tableau.
A background in finance, budgets or service charge data.
No pipeline or engineering experience is needed. If you're strong on accuracy and organisation but don't tick every box, apply anyway. We care more about how you work than whether your CV matches every keyword.
Who You'll Be Working With
You'll report to our Delivery & Operations lead and work day to day with our Senior Data Analyst, who writes the processes you'll run and reviews your work while you learn. Over time, you and the Senior Data Analyst will learn each other's operational work so you can cover for each other when one of you is away. You'll also work with our project management team, our developers and our clients.
We work in six-week cycles, with time set aside for research, development and individual projects.
Why Join Us
Make a Real Impact: In a small team, your work reaches clients directly. The numbers you deliver are the ones they rely on.
Learn the Data Side of a Product Business: You'll get hands-on with real client data across finance, operations and ESG, and you'll learn from experienced analysts and developers.
Room to Grow: As you learn our clients and processes, you'll take on more ownership and help shape how we deliver data.
Work-Life Balance: We take it seriously. You'll find a calm, respectful and kind working environment.
