We're looking for a Strategic Planning Lead for a public sector organisation based in Dorset (hybrid) on an initial 6-month contract, paying up to £750 per day (Outside IR35).

This is a hybrid role with an expectation to attend the office in Dorset 3 to 4 days a week.

There's potential for the contract to be extended.

The successful Strategic Planning Lead will drive the delivery of a new Local Plan under the latest NPPF, along with a new Design Guide.

You'll establish a clear critical path and robust project management arrangements, then lead through them to make tangible progress.

Reporting jointly to senior directors, you'll manage the Spatial Planning function and its teams (around 50 people) and make sure resources across the Planning Department are geared towards producing the new Local Plan.

You'll work closely with the Cabinet Member for Planning, councillor committees and executive directors, managing your diary to maximise face-to-face time with senior stakeholders.
