We are looking for a Coastal State Service Lead for our public sector client based in Southampton on an initial 12 month contract paying up to £573.93 per day Inside IR35. This role is hybrid, with 3 days per week in the Southampton office and 2 days engaging with stakeholders as required.

You must hold a Professional Certificate of Competency as Master Mariner (STCW II/2 Unlimited) and have significant command experience at sea. This is a time limited project within the Marine Safety and PNT Services Branch, focused on researching emerging navigation technologies and shaping the UK's regulatory position at international level. You will lead analysis, liaise with Lighthouse Authorities and other stakeholders, and produce a detailed report with recommendations to support UK representation at international forums.

  • Coastal state services experience in an organisational capacity
  • Government or regulatory environment experience
  • Strong project management and written reporting skills
