We're looking for an IT Service Desk Analyst for a central government department based in Newcastle on an initial 5 months contract, paying up to £340 per day (Inside IR35). This is an onsite role with an expectation to attend the office in Newcastle five days a week. The successful Service Desk Analyst will be the first point of contact for a diverse user base across government, handling IT issues over the phone, through the ticket portal and at the deskside.
You'll support Windows and MacOS laptops, Android and iOS smartphones, VoIP systems and cloud-based office tools, as well as some specialist applications. You'll track and prioritise incidents and service requests, manage joiner and leaver accounts, and keep associated hardware supported and asset-tracked.
You will need proven experience working with the following: Working in a Service Desk environment Competence across both 1st and 2nd line support Strong customer service skills and ownership of issues through to resolution Explaining technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical users Problem solving under agreed timescales Experience with Google Workspace and MacOS would be beneficial, and ITIL would be a bonus.
