We’re looking for a Housing Project Manager for a local government client based in London on an initial 3-month contract, paying up to £400 per day (Inside IR35). This role offers hybrid working, with a mix of office attendance and remote working.

The successful Housing Project Manager will be responsible for delivering new-build housing schemes within the New Homes / Corporate Landlord service area. You will manage up to three projects at any one time (depending on size), with individual project values typically between £20m and £50m, delivering schemes through all RIBA stages, either via direct delivery or development partners.

You will lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams including architects, consultants, employer’s agents, contractors, and internal stakeholders, ensuring projects are delivered to cost, quality, programme, and governance requirements.

Key responsibilities include:
  • End-to-end delivery of new-build housing projects through all RIBA stages
  • Managing approved budgets, forecasts, and financial profiles, ensuring value for money
  • Monitoring programme milestones, risks, and issues, maintaining robust risk registers
  • Preparing governance reports, gateway submissions, change control requests, and monitoring reports
  • Producing regular project reporting and updates for senior management and PMO functions
  • Managing consultant, contractor, and development partner performance through contractual arrangements
  • Overseeing planning condition discharge and building regulations compliance
  • Carrying out financial and viability modelling where required
  • Engaging effectively with internal stakeholders, senior officers, elected members, residents, and local communities
  • Ensuring full compliance with relevant policies, financial regulations, procurement rules, and health and safety requirements
  • Acting as the main point of contact for allocated schemes
