We are looking for a Senior Technical Business Analyst for our public sector client based in Newcastle, Leeds or Birmingham on an initial 12-month contract, paying up to £650 per day (Inside IR35). This role offers hybrid working with approximately 3 days per week.
The successful Senior Technical Business Analyst will be a confident, technically minded BA who is comfortable working directly with software engineering and DevOps teams on a daily basis. This is not a requirements-gathering or task-taking role. You will bring structure to ambiguity, challenge constructively and actively shape technical solutions across a complex, fast-moving digital environment.
You will need proven experience working with the following:
- Working directly and recently with software development teams, writing technical user stories and refining loosely defined epics into delivery-ready features
- Technical exposure across areas such as cloud platforms (AWS or Azure), CI/CD pipelines, containers, APIs and service-based architectures
- DevOps ways of working and non-functional requirements including security, resilience and testability
- Agile and Lean delivery within Scrum or Kanban teams, comfortable operating with ambiguity
- Engaging and influencing senior engineers, architects, product managers and business stakeholders
- Supporting discovery and proof-of-concept activities including hypothesis shaping and benefits mapping
Experience across multiple systems, teams or technical domains is essential. Previous UK Government or large enterprise experience would be beneficial.
