We're looking for a Landfill Industry Expert for our public sector client on a 12-month contract (Inside IR35). This role is hybrid, with 3 days per week on-site at one of the following locations: Bristol, London, Newcastle or York.

The successful Landfill Industry Expert will have deep knowledge of landfill regulation, closure and aftercare management. You will advise on policy that ensures environmental protection and resource recovery are central to how residual waste infrastructure is managed, and help shape the future waste roadmap across landfill and energy from waste.

You will need proven experience working with the following:

  • Landfill regulation, closure and aftercare management, with an understanding of environmental protection and resource recovery
  • Residual waste infrastructure planning and performance at a local or regional level
  • Methane capture technologies and operations, including net zero pathway considerations
  • Developing policy proposals and presenting options and evidence to senior decision-makers
  • Stakeholder engagement across local government, industry and regulators

A background in local government residual waste treatment or the energy from waste sub-sector would also be considered.
