We're looking for a Commercial Officer for a public sector organisation based in Wiltshire or Hampshire (hybrid) on an initial 22 Months contract, paying from £508 per day (Inside IR35).
This is a hybrid role with occasional travel to site.
The successful Commercial Officer will advise project teams on acquisition strategies and lead competitive and single source procurements from end to end. You'll draft invitations to tender and negotiate, handle complex contracts with non-standard pricing or bespoke terms, and manage higher value contracts through their lifecycle. You'll also take ownership of cost and schedule changes, lead supplier performance assessments, and act as a local expert on sourcing, contract management and commercial sales.
You will need proven experience in the following:
- Working independently on sourcing, procurement and contract management
- Selecting the right commercial approach and assessing trade-offs and risk to reach the best outcome
- Applying commercial judgement through evidence-based analysis and proportionate risk-taking
- Using tools to monitor supplier performance, cost analysis and contract management information systems
- MCIPS certification is highly desirable.
- You'll need to hold or be eligible to obtain SC clearance.
