We're looking for a Tech Lead for a cutting-edge startup organisation to be based remotely on an initial contract basis with a view to becoming permanent as the project & product takes off, paying a competitive rate with equity and bonus on offer. This is a fully remote role with the expectation to attend meetings with investors.

The successful Tech Lead will serve as the sole technical owner of a greenfield, AI-native analytics and reporting platform built for private credit fund managers. Working directly with the founder, you'll make the architecture calls, set engineering standards, and write and review code from day one. You'll have genuine influence over both the product and the company as it scales.

You will need proven experience working with the following:

  • Private credit, private markets, or capital markets
  • Shipping production software with 3 to 5 years in a tech lead or staff engineer role
  • Python and TypeScript/Node, with solid React/Next.js and NestJS/FastAPI experience
  • PostgreSQL, including schema design, query performance, ETL/ELT, and analytical workloads at scale
  • LLM/AI features shipped to production users, covering evals, guardrails, prompt versioning, and cost control
  • LangChain and LangGraph for orchestration
  • Data modelling for fund mechanics, including cash flows, NAV, performance metrics, and position-level credit data
  • AWS in production: IAM, S3, RDS, and containerised workloads
  • CI/CD, security, observability, and designing for data sensitivity from the outset

You'll also need practical exposure to the broader engineering landscape, including areas such as:

  • pgvector
  • LiteLLM for model routing
  • AWS Textract for OCR
  • Docker and infrastructure-as-code
  • Conversational Q&A and document ingestion systems

Experience at pre-seed or early-stage startups would be a bonus.
