We're looking for a Transformation Director for a leading government administration organisation based in Essex (hybrid) on an initial six-month contract, paying up to £900 per day, Umbrella (Inside IR35). This is a part-time role requiring up to four days per week, combining remote working with on-site attendance at ACL centres as needed.
The successful Transformation Director will lead the delivery of a complex transformation portfolio, overseeing governance, performance assurance, and programme delivery across a skills-led change programme. They will provide strategic leadership to redesign the operating model, aligning policy, curriculum, workforce, technology, and customer experience to ensure financial sustainability and improved outcomes for residents. This includes coaching and challenging service leadership, building cross-organisational relationships, and communicating a compelling transformation narrative to senior leaders, members, and political stakeholders.
You will need proven experience working with the following:
- Expert-level knowledge of Adult Learning and Skills, including current funding regulations
- Leading complex transformation programmes in adult or further education, or a comparable public sector environment
- Navigating and applying programme delivery frameworks to ensure compliance and effective outcomes
- Adult Community Learning, MIS, data and digital systems
- Delivering measurable savings and service improvements at pace
- Working with elected members and senior officers in a politically sensitive environment
- Communication, facilitation and coaching at director level
- Data management, digital systems and transformation methodologies
