We're looking for a Batteries Specialist for our public sector client on a 12-month contract (Inside IR35). This role is hybrid, with 3 days per week on-site at one of the following locations: Bristol, London, Newcastle or York.
The successful Batteries Specialist will be a subject matter expert with deep knowledge of battery production, collection, reuse and recycling systems. You will develop and advise on policy proposals to increase battery circularity, work across an interdisciplinary team, and bring practical industry insight to help shape regulation reform under the Circular Economy Growth Plan.
You will need proven experience working with the following:
- Battery production, collection, reuse or recycling systems, and how these are shaped by regulation
- Developing policy proposals, including defining issues, sourcing evidence and presenting options to senior decision-makers
- Strategic thinking across programmes, contributing to long-term circular economy goals
- Stakeholder engagement across industry, local government and regulators
- Working collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams across policy, technical and delivery functions
- Experience upskilling civil servants or sharing specialist knowledge through mentoring or technical guidance would be an advantage.
