We are currently recruiting on behalf of a £1Bn turnover Tier 1 Main Contractor for an experienced Sub Agent to join an ongoing civils and groundworks scheme in West Clandon, Surrey. This is a fantastic opportunity to secure a long-term contract with a market-leading contractor on a well-established project.
The Role:
As Sub Agent, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of site activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinating subcontractors
- Monitoring progress, productivity, and performance against the programme
- Assisting with site planning, including short-term lookaheads and resource allocation
- Ensuring compliance with HSQE policies and standards
- Issuing permits (like permits to break ground) and managing safe excavation
- Producing and maintaining quality records, checksheets, and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
- Supporting risk assessments and incident reporting
- Contributing to internal and client reports and progress meetings
- Supporting cost tracking and change management
- Liaising with the wider site team, clients, and subcontractors
- Mentoring junior engineers and fostering a positive team environment
- Driving efficiency through value engineering
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sub Agent on civils and groundworks projects
- Background working for a main contractor
- Strong understanding of health & safety and site delivery
- Ability to manage subcontractors and drive works on site
- SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid (preferred)
