Role Overview

As a Site Manager, you will take full responsibility for day-to-day site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will manage subcontractors, coordinate with internal teams and clients, and ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental requirements. This role requires strong leadership, effective communication, and a proactive, hands-on approach to problem-solving. You will be the key point of contact on-site, ensuring seamless execution from project commencement through to handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate all on-site activities for refurbishment and fit-out projects.
  • Supervise subcontractors, trades, and labour to ensure work meets design and quality standards.
  • Oversee project schedules and report progress to the Project Manager and client teams.
  • Conduct site inductions, monitor performance, and maintain accurate site records.
  • Ensure site logistics, materials, and labour are managed effectively to meet deadlines.

Health & Safety

  • Uphold strict adherence to company H&S policies and CDM regulations.
  • Carry out regular site inspections and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Ensure toolbox talks, RAMS reviews, and safety documentation are completed and up to date.

Quality & Compliance

  • Maintain high-quality workmanship throughout all project phases.
  • Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, and company standards.
  • Manage snagging, inspections, and final handover documentation.

Client & Stakeholder Relations

  • Act as the on-site representative of the company, ensuring clear and professional communication with clients and consultants.
  • Report progress, issues, and milestones accurately to senior management.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and project partners.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience as a Site Manager within fit-out or refurbishment projects.
  • Proven track record of managing commercial, hospitality, or residential refurbishment works.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, quality control, and H&S requirements.
  • SMSTS (or SSSTS), CSCS, and First Aid certifications essential.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills.
  • IT literate – confident using MS Office and site reporting software.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide.
