We are seeking an experienced Site Manager with a strong engineering or civil engineering background to manage the day-to-day delivery of a specialist construction project within a live project environment. The project will involve micro piling along an existing 40m wall line, construction of pile caps, installation of a new steel support structure, and completion of brick cladding works. The works will be carried out in a constrained live environment, with approximately four contractors working on the scheme.

The successful Site Manager will be responsible for the daily coordination of the project, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with programme requirements. You will report to the Operations Manager, who will attend site on a weekly basis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensuring company HSEQ policies and procedures are implemented, followed, and maintained at all times on site.
  • Liaising daily with the Client’s Project Manager, ensuring clear communication of progress, issues, and site activities.
  • Managing both company and client permit-to-work systems, ensuring all permits are correctly obtained, briefed, and closed out daily.
  • Ensuring all RAMS are in place, reviewed, communicated, and strictly adhered to by all contractors.
  • Managing, monitoring, and updating the project programme, ensuring works are delivered in line with key milestones.
  • Coordinating all site activities across multiple subcontractors, including piling, groundworks, steelwork, and brickwork.
  • Maintaining high standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance across all works.
  • Carrying out regular site inspections, audits, and toolbox talks.
  • Ensuring daily site diaries, records, and reporting are accurately completed and maintained.
  • Overseeing site logistics, access, and sequencing of works within a constrained working environment.
  • Monitoring quality of workmanship and ensuring works are delivered to specification and drawings.
  • Identifying and proactively managing risks, delays, or issues, escalating where required.
  • Ensuring all plant, equipment, and lifting operations are properly planned and executed safely.
  • Managing site inductions and ensuring all personnel are competent and authorised to work.
  • Maintaining good housekeeping standards and a safe, organised working environment.
  • Supporting the Operations Manager during weekly site visits and providing progress updates.
  • Contributing to site coordination meetings as required.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Site Manager on civil engineering, structural, or specialist construction projects.
  • Engineering background strongly preferred.
  • Experience working in live, operational, constrained, or high-risk environments.
  • Strong understanding of HSEQ requirements, RAMS, permits, site coordination, and subcontractor management.
  • Experience managing piling, groundworks, steelwork, or masonry packages would be highly beneficial.
  • Ability to manage project programmes and monitor key milestones.
  • Asta Powerproject proficiency preferred.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence liaising directly with the client.
  • Comfortable using digital construction management platforms for diaries, RFIs, photos, drawings, HSE, and quality records.
  • Previous experience with Procore would be advantageous, although not essential.
