We are seeking a confident and commercially astute Quantity Surveyor to join a growing passive fire protection specialist delivering fire door and fire stopping projects nationwide. This is a largely remote role offering excellent flexibility. You will only be required to attend the office and site visits once or twice per month, making this an ideal opportunity for someone seeking autonomy and work-life balance. This position would suit a stand-alone QS who is comfortable taking full commercial responsibility for projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Producing and assessing bid packages, detailed cost breakdowns, and financial appraisals
  • Overseeing interim payment submissions, change control procedures, and agreement of final accounts
  • Contributing to supply chain engagement and overseeing subcontractor performance
  • Providing commercial input during contract discussions while building and maintaining effective client partnerships
  • Adhering to internal governance procedures and ensuring alignment with relevant industry certifications (e.g., FIRAS, ASFP)
  • Working in partnership with Operational and Finance teams to monitor profitability and overall project delivery metrics

Requirements

  • Longevity with current/recent employer
  • Multiple years’ experience within passive fire (fire doors and fire stopping)
  • Strong understanding of commercial contracts and cost control
  • Ability to work independently as a stand-alone QS
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Full UK driving licence
