About the Role
We are looking for a proactive Health & Safety Assistant to support our project and site teams across a range of construction projects. This role is ideal for someone looking to build a long-term career in health and safety within construction, working closely with our Health & Safety Manager to help maintain high standards of safety, compliance and best practice across all sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the implementation and monitoring of health & safety procedures across our construction sites
- Assisting with site inspections, audits and safety checks to ensure compliance with company policies and legislation
- Helping to prepare and maintain RAMS, risk assessments and method statements
- Assisting with accident, incident and near-miss reporting and investigations
- Supporting toolbox talks, site inductions and safety briefings
- Monitoring subcontractor compliance with health & safety requirements
- Ensuring health & safety documentation is up to date and correctly filed
- Assisting with the implementation of corrective actions following audits or inspections
- Promoting a positive health & safety culture across our sites
- Liaising with site teams to address health & safety concerns promptly
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience in a health & safety or site-based role within construction (desirable)
- Strong interest in pursuing a career in health & safety
- Good understanding of UK health & safety legislation and site practices
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage site teams
- Well organised with good attention to detail
- Able to work across multiple sites when required
- Proactive and willing to learn
Qualifications
- NEBOSH General Certificate or working towards (desirable)
- IOSH Managing Safely (advantageous)
- CSCS card (required or working towards)
