Freelance Health and Safety Consultant - Fully remote Working with Site Visits.

We are seeking a highly knowledgeable Freelance Health and Safety Consultant to provide expert guidance on occupational health, safety regulations, and compliance.

Our client is a well-established and growing Health & Safety consultancy supporting organisations across a wide range of industries. They are dedicated to helping businesses create safe, compliant, and positive working environments and are now seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join their team.

The role:

As a Health & Safety Consultant, you’ll work closely with a portfolio of clients, providing professional advice and hands-on support across all aspects of health, safety, and risk management. You’ll lead audits, deliver engaging training, and play a key role in driving continuous improvement in safety culture and compliance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting comprehensive health, safety, and fire risk assessments.
  • Developing and implementing tailored H&S management systems and policies.
  • Delivering practical, solution-based advice to clients.
  • Providing engaging H&S training and workshops.
  • Acting as Lead Consultant for key client accounts.
  • Promoting and demonstrating the use of H&S software and reporting platforms.
  • Keeping up to date with relevant legislation and best practice.
  • Identifying opportunities to grow existing client relationships.

About you:

  • Proven experience as a Health & Safety Consultant or Advisor.
  • Recognised qualification (NEBOSH / IOSH or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of UK H&S legislation and best practices.
  • Excellent communication, client-facing, and organisational skills.
  • Relevant fire safety qualifications (desirable).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and H&S software systems.
  • Full UK driving license and own vehicle.
  • Working towards or already CMIOSH status (advantageous).
