A well-established Construction Main Contractor is looking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team based in Coventry. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor who is looking to develop their career with a respected contractor delivering a range of construction projects across the Midlands.
Working closely with senior members of the commercial team, you will support the successful financial management of projects from procurement through to final account. You will gain exposure to subcontractor management, valuations, variations, cost reporting, and contract administration.
Key Responsibilities:- Assisting with the preparation of valuations, cost reports, and forecasts
- Supporting procurement and subcontractor package management
- Measuring works and assisting with take-offs
- Reviewing and processing subcontractor payments
- Assisting with variations, change control, and final accounts
- Working closely with project, site, and commercial teams
- Ensuring commercial processes are followed accurately and efficiently
- Experience working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, Trainee Quantity Surveyor, or Junior Quantity Surveyor
- Main contractor or construction project experience preferred
- Degree, HNC, or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline desirable
- Strong numerical, communication, and organisational skills
- Commercially aware with a proactive attitude
- Keen to progress and develop within a main contractor environment
- Basic salary of £35,000 – £45,000
