AQS – Major London Hotel Refurbishment Location: Central London Salary / Rate: Competitive, depending on experience Employment Type: Permanent An established and highly regarded Mechanical & Electrical contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Quantity Surveyor / Project Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a major, high-profile hospitality refurbishment project in Central London. The project involves the extensive refurbishment and extension of a prestigious five-star hotel, with significant M&E works being delivered within a live operational environment. The scheme includes the replacement and upgrade of existing mechanical and electrical infrastructure, high-specification guestroom and public-area works, services installations, plant and systems upgrades, and complex coordination with the wider construction team. Works are being delivered through a carefully phased programme, requiring a high level of commercial and operational control. The Role You will work closely with the Project Manager, Commercial Manager and wider project team, taking responsibility for the commercial management of your designated packages and supporting the successful financial delivery of the project. Responsibilities include: * Managing M&E subcontractor and supplier packages * Procurement, tendering and subcontract administration * Valuations, payment applications and certification * Cost reporting, forecasting and cash-flow management * Variations, change control and management of additional works * Cost/value reconciliation and commercial reporting * Supporting final accounts and close-out * Reviewing and agreeing subcontractor accounts * Working closely with site, project and design teams * Identifying commercial risks and opportunities * Maintaining accurate project records and commercial documentation
