Our client, a respected and expanding General Contractor operating across Kent, Essex and London, is seeking a proactive SHEQ Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their career within Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality functions while working across a diverse range of construction projects.
Role Overview
The main responsibility of the SHEQ Assistant will be to carry out regular site audits across multiple live projects. You will support the SHEQ Manager to ensure all sites meet the company’s high safety and compliance standards, while helping drive a positive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct SHEQ audits and inspections across various construction sites
- Compile audit reports and follow up on corrective actions
- Support with maintaining SHEQ documentation, systems and records
- Assist with incident reporting and investigations
- Help drive continuous improvement across health, safety, environmental and quality processes
- Liaise with site teams to ensure compliance and provide guidance where needed
Requirements
- Previous experience in a SHEQ or Health & Safety support role (construction background preferred)
- Strong understanding of site safety practices and compliance requirements
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
- Must be flexible with travel across Kent, Essex and London
- Full UK driving licence
- Relevant SHEQ or H&S qualifications beneficial (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH)
