Freelance Site Engineer – £350 Per Day – Bognor Regis

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Freelance Site Engineer to join a leading main contractor on a major £50m industrial development in Bognor Regis.
The project is currently at groundworks stage, and the successful Engineer will form an integral part of the site management team, providing engineering, setting out, QA and technical support throughout the construction programme.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Engineer with a strong background in industrial, logistics, warehouse or large-scale commercial projects.
- Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Setting out for groundworks, drainage, foundations, slabs, external works and associated infrastructure.
- Carrying out as-built surveys and QA inspections.
- Acting as a drawing coordinator, ensuring the site team is working from the latest construction information.
- Providing technical and engineering support to subcontractors and the wider site management team.
- Reviewing drawings and specifications and identifying any discrepancies or buildability issues.
- Liaising with the client, architect, structural engineer and design consultants to resolve construction and design issues.
- Reviewing and appraising method statements and RAMS.
- Assisting with the coordination and management of temporary works.
- Monitoring subcontractor works to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and quality standards.
- Maintaining accurate site records, engineering documentation and QA information.
- Supporting the Project Manager and Site Management team with programme, sequencing and short-term planning.
- Ensuring all engineering activities are carried out safely and in accordance with site procedures.
- Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Site Engineer / Setting Out Engineer.
- Strong experience of groundworks, drainage, foundations and concrete works.
- Previous experience on industrial, logistics, distribution centre, warehouse or large commercial projects would be advantageous.
- Competent using Total Station and GPS surveying equipment.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings and technical specifications.
- Experience completing as-built surveys, QA documentation and ITPs.
- Good knowledge of temporary works procedures.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Relevant Civil Engineering or Construction qualification preferred.
- CSCS required.
