A long-established main contractor specialising in heritage restoration, high-quality refurbishment, and complex fit-out projects across Central London is seeking an experienced Bid Manager to strengthen its pre-construction team. The business is known for delivering craftsmanship-led projects across museums, galleries, listed buildings, cultural institutions, luxury resi refurbishments, and sensitive public-sector environments. Typical project values range from £500k–£15m.
The Role
As Bid Manager, you’ll take ownership of the full tender process, ensuring each submission reflects the company’s meticulous standards and reputation for excellence. Working closely with estimators, planning, design management, and delivery teams, you’ll coordinate every element of the bid to secure strategically important projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the full lifecycle of PQQ and tender submissions.
- Develop clear bid strategies, win themes, and value propositions tailored to client needs.
- Write, edit, and refine compelling quality responses that highlight technical expertise and craftsmanship.
- Review tender documents, identify risks, gather clarifications, and coordinate multi-disciplinary input.
- Oversee design, layout, and presentation to produce visually polished, compliant submissions.
- Run internal tender reviews and ensure timely sign-off.
- Maintain bid libraries and support continuous improvements in bid quality and processes.
About You
- Proven experience leading bids within construction — ideally refurbishment, heritage, fit-out, or other detail-driven project environments.
- Exceptional writing skills with the ability to turn technical input into persuasive, client-focused content.
- Highly organised, deadline-driven, and comfortable managing several bids at once.
- Confident working with senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams.
- Understanding of public-sector procurement and frameworks is beneficial.
