Job Overview:

We are seeking a proactive and organized Assistant Site Manager to support the day-to-day operations on-site and ensure construction activities are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The successful candidate will work closely with the Site Manager and project team to coordinate trades, ensure safety compliance, and contribute to overall project success.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in managing on-site operations and supervising subcontractors, trades, and laborers.

Monitor project timelines and support the Site Manager in scheduling daily work plans.

Ensure health, safety, and environmental (HSE) compliance across the site.

Conduct site inspections to check progress, quality of work, and adherence to plans.

Report any issues or delays to the Site Manager and suggest improvements.

Maintain accurate site records, including deliveries, permits, incident reports, and daily logs.

Help ensure tools, materials, and equipment are used efficiently and stored securely.

Foster good relationships with contractors, clients, and internal teams.

Assist in resolving minor technical or operational challenges on-site.

Requirements:

Proven experience in a construction or site-based role, ideally in a supervisory or support capacity.

Strong understanding of construction processes, methods, and HSE regulations.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.

Competent in using project management and reporting tools.

CSCS card or equivalent certification (preferred).

First Aid certification (desirable).

Valid driver’s license (if travel to multiple sites is required).

Preferred Qualifications:

NVQ Level 3 or above in Construction Management or related field.

SMSTS or SSSTS certification (preferred but not mandatory).

Experience working on residential, commercial, or infrastructure projects.
