We’re looking for a Senior Experience Designer to join our multidisciplinary Experience Design (XD) team at Inviqa. The role is a combination of Research and traditional UX / UI work, that could also be described as a Senior Product Designer role. You’ll be part of a small team of 12 Experience Designers that share a passion for crafting compelling, evidence-based and beautiful customer experiences. You will be comfortable designing and optimising end-to-end experiences across complex digital product engagements. You will drive discovery, research, design direction, experimentation, and cross-functional collaboration to create impactful digital experiences.
This role suits an experienced practitioner who blends strong research credentials, UX / UI craft, strategic thinking, confident presentation and facilitation skills, and the ability to guide product teams toward evidence-based design decisions. You’ll mentor junior designers, lead co-creation with clients, and ensure that every design move aligns with customer needs and business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:- User Research & Discovery
- Lead discovery activities including qualitative and quantitative research, usability testing and stakeholder interviews and workshops.
- Synthesise qual and quant data into insights and actionable problem statements, opportunity areas, customer journeys and product hypotheses.
- Guide external stakeholders and internal teams in the prioritisation of identified customer needs that drive strategic outcomes.
- Translate research into conceptual models and north star visions that demonstrate clear experience improvements and motivate stakeholders to move into future phases.
- Synthesise research insights into compelling, easy to understand design artefacts such as experience maps and personas.
- Comfortable leading the audit of existing experiences and the concepting of solutions or new experiences based on research, strategy and data.
- Create clear wireframes, user flows and low to mid fidelity prototypes to bring an idea to life.
- Ensure quality, consistency and accessibility are prioritised during the high-fidelity design phase of new experiences and the optimisation of existing ones.
- Create high-fidelity test-ready prototypes.
- Set up and maintain design systems and component libraries.
- Present the project and all design decisions to internal and client-side stakeholders at key milestones of projects.
- Direct line management of more junior members of the Experience Design team.
- Lead by example and offer guidance on approach to other team members.
- Create clear design documentation and assets for in-house and external development teams.
- Work with cross-functional teams (engineering, strategy, design) in agile delivery environments.
- Stay informed and communicate within the team about design trends, UX methodologies, accessibility standards, and product thinking.
- Engage in training courses and internal knowledge sharing through Inviqa’s culture of collaboration and learning.
Your skills, experience and approach:
You will have 5+ years experience in UX, service design, product design, or equivalent and have experience working in digital agencies or consultancy environments. Technical & Craft Skills- Significant experience delivering end-to-end research and design across complex digital products or services.
- Strong command of UX methodologies, human-centred design, service design, and design thinking.
- High proficiency with Figma.
- Experience designing to digital accessibility requirements (WCAG standards).
- Be familiar with the current landscape of AI-powered tools across the design and research workflow (e.g. generative design assistants, automated prototyping, qualitative data synthesis, and analysis).
- Understand where AI tools create genuine efficiency gains and where they introduce unreliable or misleading outputs.
- Able to articulate AI capabilities and limitations clearly to non-technical stakeholders and advocate for responsible project integration.
- Proactive, a strong curiosity and a hunger to learn and develop your skills.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
- Approachable with good communication and presentation skills.
- Organised, with the ability to manage small tasks within larger project streams.
