Inviox is building mechanically satisfying, system-driven interactive experiences centered on progression, clarity, and player flow. We are looking for a versatile Game Designer who can contribute across level design, gameplay systems, and core mechanics. This role begins as a contract engagement with a clear path to full-time based on performance and long-term alignment.

Role Overview

You will help shape the structure of player experience by designing spaces that support satisfying gameplay loops, building systems that reinforce progression, and refining mechanics that feel intuitive and rewarding.

Responsibilities

  • Level and experience design
    • Design and implement interactive levels from concept through polished gameplay state
    • Structure spaces that support player flow, task prioritization, and satisfying completion loops
    • Balance progression curves, unlock pacing, and environmental complexity
    • Integrate interactive objects, systemic elements, and layered objectives within spaces
    • Collaborate closely with art and engineering to ensure clarity and production feasibility
  • Gameplay and core loop systems
    • Design and refine moment-to-moment gameplay mechanics
    • Contribute to progression systems, upgrade paths, rewards, and retention loops
    • Balance player tools, abilities, and systemic interactions
    • Improve feedback systems to enhance clarity and satisfaction
  • Systems and economy design
    • Assist in designing scalable progression systems and unlock structures
    • Contribute to tuning economy values, rewards, and pacing
    • Support long-term engagement systems that encourage mastery and replayability
    • Help prototype mechanics that extend into deeper systemic gameplay models
  • 3Cs (Character, Camera, Controls)
    • Support refinement of responsiveness and player control feel
    • Improve camera behavior to maintain clarity and usability
    • Collaborate with engineering to ensure mechanics feel polished and intuitive

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in game design, level design, or systems design
  • Experience working in Unreal Engine & Unity
  • Portfolio demonstrating playable levels, systemic features, or shipped titles
  • Strong understanding of progression design, spatial layout, and player motivation
  • Ability to move between hands-on implementation and high-level system thinking
  • Clear communication and collaborative mindset
