We are looking for a reliable and skilled Building Maintenance Technician to work for our client based in Slough to help keep the office building facilities safe, functional, and well-maintained. This role is responsible for performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs across building systems and equipment. The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable troubleshooting a wide range of maintenance issues, from minor repairs to coordinating larger fixes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections of building systems (plumbing, electrical, lighting, decorating etc.)
  • Respond to maintenance requests and emergency repair issues in a timely manner
  • Ensure all jobs are completed on time and within agreed standards.
  • Have a proactive approach in identifying any other maintenance work required.
  • Obtain materials for repairs and maintenance when needed.
  • Ensure Fire, Health & Safety checks are carried out periodically and accurate records of checks are completed.
  • Complete maintenance checklist for all buildings and identify issues and correct them.
  • Undertake preventative maintenance tasks including repairs, decorating, plumbing and electrical areas to reduce potential defects and improve building standards.
  • Complete and keep up to date internal registers in order to maintain standards within the company’s policies and procedures.
  • Repair or replace damaged fixtures, equipment, and building components.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and costly repairs.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors when specialized repairs are needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and building regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in building or facilities maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and decorating.
  • Strong time management and communication skills.
  • Physical ability to perform manual tasks (lifting, climbing, standing for long periods).
  • Relevant certifications or licenses are a plus.
  • Clean driving license.
