Legal Secretary Residential Property
Location: York
Salary: £26k to £29k pa

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced and well-organised Legal Secretary to join our Residential Property team, supporting solicitors who specialise in conveyancing transactions including sales, purchases, and remortgages. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth progression of property matters by providing comprehensive secretarial and administrative support, helping to deliver an efficient and client-focused service.

We are looking for someone who is proactive, dependable, and able to manage a busy and fast-paced workload with accuracy and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent organisational skills, a professional approach, and the ability to communicate confidently with clients, estate agents, and third parties.

You will be involved in:
Preparing legal documents and correspondence relating to residential conveyancing transactions
Providing full secretarial and administrative support to fee earners
Managing diaries, appointments, and key transaction deadlines
Liaising with clients, estate agents, mortgage lenders, and other solicitors
Handling telephone and email enquiries in a professional manner
Opening and maintaining client files, both electronically and in hard copy
Assisting with completion statements and financial transactions
Supporting the exchange and completion process
Maintaining accurate records and case management systems
Contributing to the smooth and efficient running of the department

Requirements/Desirables for the Residential Property Secretary:
Previous experience in a legal , medical or insurance environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Experience using legal case management systems (desirable)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent attention to detail and organisational ability
Strong client care and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple transactions and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Hours: 9am 5pm
