We are recruiting an Assistant Buyer within Menswear, for our client on the outskirts of Leeds. As the Assistant Buyer you will play a key role in supporting the buying function across product development, range management and trading activity. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role, ideal for someone passionate about product, with strong organisational skills and a desire to progress towards a Junior Buyer position. You will work closely with the Senior Menswear Buyer and wider Buying team to help deliver a compelling, commercial and on-brand product range.

Technical Requirements

  • Support the Buyer with product range selection and development
  • Own and maintain all departmental spreadsheets and product set-up tracking
  • Prepare competitive retail analysis, including pricing, range size and product design reviews
  • Compile and analyse product performance reports, including best-seller and trading reports
  • Support the production of range sign-off and range selection documentation
  • Manage the department critical path to ensure key milestones are met
  • Communicate with suppliers regarding samples, submissions and approvals
  • Manage the photography process: tracking samples, preparing for shoots and liaising with Studio and Marketing teams
  • Review catalogue layouts to ensure product details are accurate and aligned
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying and implementing more efficient processes and ways of working
  • Where appropriate, support the management of Buying Assistant workload and task prioritisation
  • Maintain tidy, organised sample and working areas
  • Support ad-hoc projects as directed by the Buyer
  • Actively engage in development and training to progress towards a Junior Buyer role

Experience

  • A graduate with a degree in Fashion Buying (or a related discipline), or An experienced Buying Assistant with a minimum of 3 years experience
  • You will have a genuine passion for product and product development, excellent attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
  • You will be organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment.
