Key responsibilities:

  • Reactive fabric maintenance: Carry out reactive building/fabric repairs including carpentry (locks, cubicle and panel repairs), painting and decorating, and general handyman tasks. Complete tiling repairs and installs to a high standard (strong tiling capability is essential). Undertake minor repairs and adjustments such as loose handles, toilet seats, fixtures and fittings. Assist with furniture moves and support minor building works to maintain site presentation. Respond to client requests promptly and ensure issues are resolved within agreed timescales.
  • Planned maintenance (PPM) & inspections: Complete scheduled PPM tasks and support the wider site team in delivering planned works. Carry out fire door inspections (training provided). Assist with routine compliance activities such as flushing, tap temperature checks and meter reads. Maintain accurate records and documentation to demonstrate compliance.
  • Operational support & collaboration: Support shift operations and contribute to emergency response where required. Assist with basic mechanical maintenance and repairs as needed, and support HVAC/plumbing servicing activities. Work collaboratively with the site team and contractors to ensure safe, efficient delivery of works.

Skills, knowledge & experience:

  • Proven experience in building/fabric maintenance within a commercial or facilities environment.
  • Strong practical skills across carpentry, painting/decorating, and general repairs.
  • Excellent tiling ability with attention to finish and detail.
  • Ability to plan workload, prioritise reactive requests, and complete PPMs to schedule.
  • Comfortable completing compliance checks and maintaining clear maintenance records.
  • Customer-focused approach with good communication skills.
  • Flexible to work late shifts and weekend rota as outlined.
