Salary: £46,500 per annum + HV Training + Benefits

Shift Pattern: 2 Days / 2 Nights / 4 Off (12-hour shifts)

We are currently recruiting for a Shift Electrical Engineer to join a leading FM / service provider at a major critical facility in the Sunderland area. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled maintenance engineer to step into a high-performance environment, working as part of a structured on-site engineering team responsible for the maintenance and reliability of essential building services.

The Role

As a Shift Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance across a range of electrical & mechanical and building services systems within a critical environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks
  • Responding to reactive breakdowns and fault finding
  • Diagnosing and repairing electrical systems and equipment
  • Supporting the smooth operation of building services infrastructure
  • Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety and compliance standards
  • Working effectively as part of a shift team to maintain site continuity
  • Completing accurate maintenance records and documentation

Candidate Requirements

We are looking for electrically biased maintenance engineers with strong building services experience, ideally including:

  • M&E maintenance experience within commercial or industrial environments
  • Strong PPM and reactive maintenance background
  • Confident fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Good understanding of building services systems (power, lighting, distribution, etc.)
  • Willingness to work within a critical environment
  • Flexibility to work a rotating day and night shift pattern
  • Strong teamworking and communication skills
  • Experience within critical environments is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided
