We are currently recruiting for Electrical Shift Engineers to join a leading Facilities Management and Engineering Maintenance provider at a large, high-profile commercial site near Borehamwood. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established onsite engineering team responsible for maintaining a diverse estate consisting of multiple commercial buildings and specialist facilities. The successful candidate will benefit from working within a professional environment that offers genuine training, development, and progression opportunities.

The Role

  • As an Electrical Shift Engineer, you will be responsible for the delivery of planned and reactive maintenance across the site, ensuring all electrical and building services systems operate safely and efficiently.
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
  • Responding to reactive maintenance and breakdowns
  • Fault finding and repair of electrical systems
  • Maintaining lighting, power distribution, emergency lighting, and associated building services equipment
  • Supporting statutory compliance and health & safety requirements
  • Working closely with the wider engineering team to ensure operational excellence across the estate
  • Updating maintenance records and completing relevant documentation

Candidate Requirements

  • Recognised electrical qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent)
  • Experience working within commercial building maintenance or facilities management environments
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic abilities
  • Knowledge of electrical building services systems
  • Good communication skills and a proactive approach to maintenance
  • Experience within large commercial, corporate, industrial, or critical environments would be advantageous
