The Role: We are seeking an experienced Asset Surveyor to join a leading facilities management organisation on an initial six-month fixed-term contract, with the potential for the role to become permanent. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the mobilisation of new sites across Central London, supporting the successful transition of facilities management services and ensuring accurate, reliable asset information is in place from day one. Working closely with operational teams, mobilisation leads and client stakeholders, you will be responsible for surveying, validating and recording building assets, helping to establish a clear understanding of asset condition, compliance requirements and ongoing maintenance needs across multiple sites. This role would suit a technically minded surveyor with strong facilities management experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and making a tangible impact during the mobilisation of new contracts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out asset surveys across multiple sites in Central London to identify, verify and record building assets and associated equipment.
  • Support the mobilisation of new facilities management contracts, ensuring asset registers and supporting documentation are accurate, complete and up to date.
  • Undertake physical asset verification, condition assessments and data collection across building fabric, mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems and other relevant facilities infrastructure.
  • Review existing asset registers and identify discrepancies, missing information and opportunities to improve data quality.
  • Capture asset details, including location, type, condition, age and relevant maintenance information.
  • Work closely with mobilisation, engineering and operational teams to ensure asset information is transferred effectively into business-as-usual operations.
  • Identify potential maintenance, compliance and lifecycle replacement requirements, escalating issues where appropriate.
  • Support the development of planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and lifecycle planning using accurate asset data.
  • Liaise with clients, site teams and subcontractors to coordinate site access and complete surveys efficiently.
  • Produce clear survey reports, update asset management systems and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure all surveying activities are carried out in accordance with relevant health and safety requirements and site procedures.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience working as an Asset Surveyor, Building Surveyor, Asset Condition Surveyor or in a similar technical facilities management role.
  • A strong understanding of facilities management environments, ideally across commercial buildings or complex estates.
  • Experience carrying out asset verification, condition surveys and maintaining accurate asset registers.
  • Knowledge of building services, including mechanical and electrical systems, building fabric and associated infrastructure.
  • An understanding of planned preventative maintenance, asset lifecycle planning and maintenance requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to capture, validate and manage technical information accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to engage with operational teams, clients and stakeholders.
  • The ability to work independently across multiple sites and manage competing priorities.
  • Good IT skills, including experience using asset management systems, CAFM platforms or similar databases.
  • A relevant qualification in building surveying, building services engineering, facilities management or a related discipline would be advantageous.

What is on Offer?

  • £60,000–£70,000 salary, depending on experience.
  • An initial six-month fixed-term contract.
  • Potential for the role to become permanent, subject to business requirements and performance.
  • Cycle to work scheme.
  • Retail and Shopping discounts.
  • Company pension scheme.
