Working within a Hard Facilities Management (Hard FM) and Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) environment, you will support the delivery of complex technical services solutions, ensuring pricing strategies are commercially robust, accurate and aligned with client requirements.

The Role:

As Senior Estimator, you will take ownership of the estimating and tender process, working closely with Sales, Business Development, Operations and Commercial teams to develop high-quality proposals that support business objectives. You will be responsible for reviewing tender opportunities, developing pricing strategies, assessing project risks and ensuring estimates are accurate, competitive and delivered to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation of accurate, competitive and commercially viable estimates for Hard FM and M&E technical services contracts, ensuring pricing aligns with client requirements, specifications, SLAs and operational delivery models.
  • Review tender documentation, technical specifications and scope requirements to identify project risks, opportunities and cost considerations.
  • Develop detailed pricing models by analysing labour, materials, subcontractor costs and operational requirements, while providing input into value engineering and commercial strategies.
  • Manage the full tender process, including cost assessments, bid submissions, pricing schedules, supporting documentation and client presentations.
  • Carry out site surveys and assessments to ensure accurate project costing and support informed commercial decisions.
  • Review and provide guidance on estimates produced by junior team members, ensuring accuracy, consistency and compliance.
  • Obtain, evaluate and negotiate supplier and subcontractor quotations to achieve competitive and cost-effective solutions.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers and internal teams, working closely with Sales, Business Development, Commercial and Operations to support successful contract delivery.
  • Support bid/no-bid decisions, contract handovers and commercial discussions by providing detailed cost analysis and risk assessments.
  • Maintain accurate estimating records, forecasts and CRM data while ensuring all work complies with company procedures, industry standards and contractual requirements.

About You:

We are looking for a commercially driven and detail-focused Senior Estimator with strong technical knowledge and experience within Hard FM, M&E or related building services environments. You will have excellent analytical skills, the ability to manage complex tenders and the confidence to influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Strong technical understanding of M&E systems and Hard FM services.
  • Experience developing pricing strategies, estimates and tender submissions.

  • High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience mentoring, supporting or leading estimating teams.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Excel, Word and estimating software.

Desirable Experience:

  • Background within Facilities Management, commercial buildings or technical services.
  • Experience working with Hard FM contracts and service-based solutions.
  • Understanding of asset lifecycle management, compliance requirements and SLAs.
  • Experience supporting large-scale bids, renewals and re-tender processes.
