An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Sustainability and Climate Resilience Lead to join a large and well-established facilities and operational services provider within a critical environment based in Derby.
This role will focus on driving sustainability initiatives, improving environmental performance, and supporting climate resilience strategies across a large operational site. You will play a key role in embedding sustainable practices, reducing environmental impact, and ensuring compliance with environmental standards and government commitments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement the site Sustainability Plan, including targeted action plans for energy, water, and environmental performance
- Lead sustainability initiatives across the operation, driving innovation and environmental best practice
- Monitor and report on sustainability performance, ensuring compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements
- Support and maintain environmental management systems aligned to ISO 14001
- Identify opportunities for sustainability improvements, new technologies, and climate resilience initiatives
- Analyse and report data relating to energy, waste, water, carbon, and transport performance
- Work closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver sustainability targets
- Support social value initiatives and engagement activities across the site
Requirements:
- Previous experience within environmental or sustainability management
- Strong understanding of environmental compliance and ISO 14001 systems
- Experience delivering sustainability improvement projects
- Knowledge of social value frameworks within government or large-scale contracts
- Strong analytical and reporting skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Competent using Microsoft Office packages including Excel and PowerPoint
- Full UK driving licence
The successful candidate will undergo enhanced vetting and security clearance due to the nature of the site.
