Shift Maintenance Engineer Location: Sunderland (Critical Facility) Salary: £46,500 per annum HV Training Benefits Shift Pattern: 2 Days / 2 Nights / 4 Off (12-hour shifts) We are currently recruiting for an Shift Electrical Engineer to join a leading FM / service provider at a major critical facility in the Sunderland area. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled maintenance engineer to step into a high-performance environment, working as part of a structured on-site engineering team responsible for the maintenance and reliability of essential building services. The Role As a Shift Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance across a range of electrical & mechanical and building services systems within a critical environment. Key responsibilities include: Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks Responding to reactive breakdowns and fault finding Diagnosing and repairing electrical systems and equipment Supporting the smooth operation of building services infrastructure Ensuring all work is completed in line with health & safety and compliance standards Working effectively as part of a shift team to maintain site continuity Completing accurate maintenance records and documentation Candidate Requirements We are looking for electrically biased maintenance engineers with strong building services experience, ideally including: M&E maintenance experience within commercial or industrial environments Strong PPM and reactive maintenance background Confident fault-finding and diagnostic skills Good understanding of building services systems (power, lighting, distribution, etc.) Willingness to work within a critical environment Flexibility to work a rotating day and night shift pattern Strong teamworking and communication skills Experience within critical environments is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided.
