A leading real estate consultancy in Birmingham is seeking a Surveyor or Associate to join its growing Corporate Real Estate (CRE) team. You will work with a diverse range of corporate occupiers across the UK, providing strategic advice on office, industrial, and retail portfolios. This role offers excellent exposure to high-profile clients and a clear progression path to Senior Associate and beyond.
Key Responsibilities
- Acquisitions & Disposals: Advise corporate clients on property acquisitions, lease regears, sub-lettings, and freehold disposals.
- Lease Advisory: Handle rent reviews, lease renewals, and break options on behalf of occupiers.
- Portfolio Strategy: Analyse occupier portfolios to identify cost savings, consolidation opportunities, and alignment with business objectives.
- Client Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, acting as their trusted real estate advisor.
- Market Analysis: Provide market intelligence on occupational trends, rental levels, and incentives across the Midlands and nationally.
- Transaction Management: Instruct and manage external legal and surveyor teams to ensure smooth transaction delivery.
- Business Development: Support senior team members in winning new instructions and preparing fee proposals.
What We're Looking For
- Qualifications: MRICS desirable (AssocRICS or RICS-accredited degree with APC underway also considered).
- Experience: Minimum 2-5 years in corporate real estate, commercial agency, or occupier advisory.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of commercial leases (Landlord & Tenant Act 1954), heads of terms, and valuation principles.
- Software Proficiency: Excel, PowerPoint, and property databases (CoStar, Radius, EGi).
- Soft Skills: Strong negotiation, client-facing communication, and commercial awareness.
- Location: Based in or willing to commute to Birmingham (regional travel may be required).
