Fabric Operative Engineering Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk 37.5 Hours | Permanent
Salary: Up to £30,000 per year (depending on experience, training and qualifications) An established independent healthcare provider is looking to recruit a Fabric Operative to join its Engineering team in Bury St Edmunds.
This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities Carry out painting, decorating and general building fabric maintenance throughout the hospital.
Complete a range of fabric maintenance tasks including joinery, decoration and general repairs in both patient and staff areas.
Undertake planned and reactive refurbishment works across clinical and non-clinical environments.
Maintain high standards of workmanship and finish across all maintenance activities.
Support planned redecoration programmes and ensure building fabric is maintained to a high standard.
Provide advice on refurbishment requirements and assist with planning future maintenance works.
Work safely in accordance with health and safety procedures and relevant legislation.
Candidate Requirements Previous experience in painting, decorating and general building fabric maintenance.
Valid CSCS card.
Ability to undertake basic plumbing repairs, including TMV maintenance.
Experience delivering high-quality refurbishment and decorating work.
Able to work independently and use initiative.
Good understanding of health and safety and COSHH regulations.
Experience working in healthcare or other regulated environments is desirable.
PASMA or working at height/ladder training is advantageous.
Experience hanging a variety of wall coverings, including wide-width and fabric-backed materials.
Engineering training, apprenticeship, or trade qualification in painting, decorating or carpentry is desirable.
Experience working alongside contractors and facilities teams within large buildings.
