Small Works Estimator London & South East (Primarily within the M25) £50,000£60,000 + Benefits Permanent | Full-Time | MondayFriday (8:00am5:00pm) Are you an experienced Estimator with a background in Commercial Building Services, Facilities Management or Construction? We are looking for a technically minded and commercially aware Small Works Estimator to join a growing projects team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering reactive maintenance, refurbishment and small works projects across a diverse commercial property portfolio. The Role: You will be responsible for carrying out site surveys, identifying remedial works and producing accurate, competitive quotations for a wide range of commercial building services projects. Working closely with engineers, suppliers and operational teams, you will act as the technical link between clients and project delivery, ensuring enquiries are progressed efficiently from survey through to quotation and, where successful, project completion. This is primarily an estimating role, with some involvement in supporting the coordination of awarded works. Key Responsibilities: Carry out detailed site surveys across commercial properties. Identify defects and recommend appropriate remedial solutions. Produce accurate quotations for reactive maintenance, refurbishment and small works. Prepare labour estimates, material take-offs and subcontractor enquiries. Obtain competitive supplier and subcontractor quotations. Review drawings, specifications and client documentation. Ensure quotations are commercially competitive whilst maintaining profit margins. Respond to technical queries from clients, engineers and operational teams. Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers and subcontractors. Support the delivery of awarded projects through material ordering and coordination. Maintain accurate quotation records using CAFM systems. Typical Projects: Projects typically range from £500 to £100,000+ and include: Office refurbishments Mechanical & electrical upgrades Commercial plumbing works Building fabric repairs Fire door installations and remedial works Fire stopping CAT A & CAT B fit-outs Compliance remedial works Planned refurbishment projects Reactive maintenance works What We're Looking For: Previous estimating experience within Commercial Building Services, Facilities Management or Construction. Experience carrying out site surveys and producing quotations. Strong technical knowledge of commercial M&E and/or building fabric maintenance. Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple quotations and deadlines. Strong communication and client-facing skills. Good understanding of current Health & Safety legislation. Full UK Driving Licence. Desirable: HNC/HND in Building Services, Construction or Quantity Surveying. City & Guilds or NVQ in a relevant trade. IOSH Managing Safely. SMSTS or SSSTS. CSCS Card. Experience using CAFM systems and Microsoft Office.
