Engineering Supervisor

Location: South East London
Salary: £50,000 per annum
Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8am5pm (occasional flexibility required)

We are currently seeking a proactive and experienced Engineering Supervisor to lead a small team of engineers at a prestigious commercial site in South East London. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of day-to-day operations in a well-maintained, client-facing environment.

The Role

As Engineering Supervisor, you will manage a team of four engineers, ensuring all planned and reactive maintenance across the site is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. You\’ll be hands-on, technically capable, and confident overseeing building services systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and life safety systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support a team of 4 multi-skilled engineers

  • Oversee planned preventive maintenance (PPM) and reactive tasks across the site

  • Provide hands-on support with electrical/mechanical systems as needed

  • Ensure compliance with all statutory and company health & safety policies

  • Conduct routine audits, risk assessments, and quality checks

  • Act as first point of contact for technical queries and escalations

  • Liaise with site clients, subcontractors, and senior management

  • Maintain accurate records using CAFM and ensure timely reporting

  • Support training and development of team members

About You

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in building services, with supervisory experience

  • Recognised qualifications in electrical or mechanical engineering (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent)

  • Strong knowledge of M&E systems, particularly HVAC, BMS, and electrical infrastructure

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

  • Experience using CAFM software and digital maintenance platforms

  • IOSH, SSSTS, or equivalent H&S qualification (preferred but not essential)
