A fantastic opportunity to work for a leading FM / Engineering Maintenance service provider who are recruiting for an Electrical Shift Engineer based on a large commercial site near Kensington, London. This is a permanent position paying a salary of £46,000 per annum, rising to £48,000 for candidates holding HV Authorisation. Overtime is also available, along with an ASAP start for the right candidate. This is a highly stable and long-term opportunity within a prestigious FM contract.
Job Role:
You will be required to work a rotating shift pattern of 2 on, 2 off, 3 on, 3 off, covering both day shifts of 7:00am - 7:00pm and 10:00am - 10:00pm. The successful candidate will be based full-time on a large commercial site near Kensington, working within a high-profile building services environment. Engineers are expected to be technically strong, proactive, and confident in both planned and reactive electrical maintenance within a complex and busy environment.
The role of an Electrical Shift Engineer is to carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance of electrical systems across the site. This will include fault finding, diagnostics, repairs and general electrical maintenance across a wide range of building services systems.
Relevant work experience includes but is not limited to:
- Electrical systems maintenance within commercial or large-scale buildings
- Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
- Reactive maintenance and fault finding
- Lighting, power and distribution systems
- Emergency lighting and general building services maintenance
- HV systems (desirable depending on authorisation level)
- Working within critical or high-profile environments
Skills Required:
The successful candidates must have:
- NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation (essential)
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (preferred)
- Experience within commercial building services maintenance
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Ability to work within a large, complex building environment
- HV Authorisation (desirable - salary uplift to £48,000)
- Physically fit due to size of site and nature of role
- Must be reliable, safety-focused and confident working independently or as part of a team
