Data Centre Shift Technician (Electrical or Mechanical Bias) Slough £55,650 (Including Bonus)

Introduction:
An industry-leading critical services provider is looking for a skilled Shift Technician to join their Data Centre team in Slough. This is a permanent position within a highly secure, technically complex environment offering long-term development, including HV/LV authorisation.

Role Overview:
Working on a continental shift pattern covering both days and nights, youll be responsible for maintaining all M&E systems within a live data centre environment. You must have prior experience in a critical setting and exposure to HV or LV systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Continental shift role: 4 days, 6 off, 4 nights, 4 off, 3 days, 3 nights, 4 off

  • Working on all site-based mechanical or electrical systems (depending on bias)

  • Routine PPMs and reactive maintenance on critical plant

  • Monitoring and operation of HV/LV systems (training provided if not yet authorised)

  • Escalating faults and carrying out fault diagnostics across essential systems

  • Working alongside other engineers to ensure uptime and performance

  • Supporting emergency call-outs and incident response where required

  • Completing maintenance logs and compliance documentation

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Time-served Engineer with Level 3 qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering

  • 18th Edition (for Electrical bias) or City & Guilds Mechanical equivalent

  • Experience within a critical environment (Data Centres, Hospitals, Banking, Pharma)

  • HV or LV system understanding authorisation ideal but not essential

  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities

  • Ex-Forces (Royal Navy) engineers with relevant experience are encouraged to apply

On Offer:

  • £53,000 basic salary + 5% bonus = £55,650 total

  • Continental shift pattern (4 on / 6 off etc.) Days & Nights (6:30am 6:30pm)
