Purpose of the Job
To provide 24/7 operational and maintenance support at a brand-new, state-of-the-art data centre in Slough. To ensure electrical and mechanical systems operate safely, efficiently, and in line with critical site requirements. To deliver both reactive and planned maintenance while maintaining uptime and compliance in a critical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate as part of a shift team, maintaining and supporting data centre infrastructure around the clock.
- Perform fault finding, reactive maintenance, and PPM on electrical and mechanical systems.
- Work safely on LV and HV systems (where authorised), supporting critical power operations.
- Accurately complete maintenance logs, shift handovers, and compliance documentation.
- Participate in ongoing training and development to maintain competency and certification.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain high standards of site safety and compliance.
Personal Experience / Qualifications / Skills
- Previous experience in critical environments such as data centres, banking or pharma sites.
- HV and LV electrical experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of electrical plant, generators and associated systems.
- Ability to work effectively on shift patterns in a team-oriented environment.
- Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
- Professional, reliable and safety-conscious approach.
Working Hours & Benefits
- Shift pattern: 24/7 shift working (details discussed at interview)
- Salary: £54,590 per annum + £3,000 shift allowance = £57,590 total
- Parking available on site
