Location: Near Hammersmith, West London

Salary:

  • Shift Technician: £50,000 Basic + £5,000 Shift Allowance (£55,000 Total Package)
  • Shift Leader: £55,000 Basic + £5,000 Shift Allowance (£60,000 Total Package)

Shift Pattern: 4 On / 4 Off (Days & Nights Rotation) – 12-hour shifts (07:00–19:00 / 19:00–07:00)

We are currently recruiting for both Shift Technicians and Shift Leaders (Electrical Bias) to join a leading Facilities Management and Engineering Maintenance provider at a large, multi-building commercial site near Hammersmith, London, West London. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-structured and highly organised engineering team operating across a major commercial estate. The site features multiple buildings and a large shift engineering workforce, providing strong support, variety, and long-term stability within a professional FM environment.

The shift team is made up of Shift Leaders and Shift Technicians working across multiple rotating teams, supported by a dedicated day engineering team. This is an ideal opportunity for engineers looking to develop within a large-scale, structured maintenance operation.

The Role

As a Shift Technician or Shift Leader (Electrical Bias), you will be responsible for delivering planned and reactive maintenance across a complex commercial site, ensuring all electrical and building services systems operate safely and efficiently.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Responding to reactive maintenance and breakdowns across the estate
  • Fault finding and repair of electrical systems and associated equipment
  • Maintaining lighting, power distribution, emergency lighting, and general building services systems
  • Supporting statutory compliance and health & safety standards
  • Working across a large, multi-building commercial environment
  • Collaborating with other shift engineers and day teams to ensure operational continuity
  • Maintaining accurate maintenance records and documentation
  • For Shift Leaders: supervising shift activity and supporting coordination of engineering tasks across the team

Candidate Requirements

To be considered, candidates should have:

  • Recognised electrical qualifications (City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
  • Strong experience in electrical maintenance within commercial or large-scale environments
  • Proven PPM and reactive maintenance experience
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Experience working within shift-based building services or FM environments
  • Good understanding of electrical building services systems
  • Ability to work effectively within structured engineering teams
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Previous experience in large commercial, corporate, or multi-site environments would be advantageous
