About the Role

  • As Permit Manager, you will be responsible for the administration and management of the site permit system, ensuring permits are accurately raised, reviewed, approved and closed in line with site rules and safety requirements.

The role acts as a central point of coordination between contractors, site teams and stakeholders to control access, maintain records, ensure compliance and support safe, efficient operations.

  • You will also carry out regular site audits and subcontractor compliance checks, ensuring works are undertaken safely and in accordance with approved documentation and site standards.

What You’ll Do

  • Administer the site permit-to-work system, ensuring permits are raised, reviewed, approved, and closed accurately.
  • Coordinate site access for contractors, engineers, and visitors in line with site rules and safety requirements.
  • Check RAMS, inductions, certifications, and approvals before issuing permits.
  • Maintain accurate permit records, logs, and audit trails.
  • Monitor permit activity to prevent conflicts, unauthorised access, and unsafe working conditions.
  • Support permit compliance checks, site audits, and subcontractor compliance records.
  • Act as the main contact for permit queries and escalate non-compliance or safety concerns.
  • Provide general contract administration support where required.

What You’ll Need

  • Experience with permit-to-work, access control, or similar compliance-based systems.
  • Good understanding of health, safety, and site access procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage records accurately.
  • Able to manage multiple priorities in a calm, organised way.
