We are currently recruiting for a skilled and reliable Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established engineering and manufacturing business based in Manchester. The Role

As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving a range of mechanical equipment and machinery across site operations. You will play a key role in ensuring machinery performance, reliability, and minimal downtime.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults on production equipment
  • Work on pumps, motors, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, and pneumatic systems
  • Support continuous improvement and reliability projects
  • Ensure machinery operates efficiently and safely
  • Assist with installations and equipment upgrades
  • Complete maintenance documentation accurately

Requirements

  • Mechanical Engineering qualification (NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC or equivalent)
  • Previous experience within manufacturing, production, or industrial environments
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding and maintenance skills
  • Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics desirable
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good understanding of health & safety regulations
