Overview: We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Contract Manager to join a growing Maintenance division based in Slough. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven individual with a strong technical understanding of Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) services to manage a varied portfolio of maintenance contracts across multiple London sites, while being office-based in Slough once or twice per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee a portfolio of Mechanical & Electrical maintenance contracts across multiple London-based client sites.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships with key stakeholders.
- Ensure contracts are delivered safely, compliantly, on time, and within budget.
- Manage both direct labour and specialist subcontractors effectively.
- Monitor contract performance, profitability, and Work in Progress (WIP) management.
- Drive continuous improvement and identify opportunities to increase contract value and profitability.
- Ensure engineers and subcontractors operate in line with health & safety and compliance standards.
- Attend client meetings and confidently represent the business at senior stakeholder and boardroom level.
- Support operational planning, reporting, and resource management across the maintenance department.
- Travel across London sites as required, with attendance at the Slough office once or twice weekly.
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Contract Management within the Building Services or Maintenance sector.
- Technical background in either Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred.
- Proven experience managing profitable long-term maintenance contracts.
- Strong understanding of M&E maintenance operations within commercial environments.
- Experience managing both direct and subcontract labour teams.
- Demonstrable experience in robust WIP management and commercial control.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong organisational and process-driven approach.
- Customer-centric mindset with a focus on service delivery and retention.
